How to find OLEM Church
Our Lady & the English Martyrs is one of the most beautiful church buildings in Cambridge. Situated at the junction of Hills Road and Lensfield Road and overlooking the world-famous Parker's Piece, it dominates the Cambridge sky-line with its tall and elegant bell tower. The exterior of the church is a fine example of the Victorian Neo-Gothic movement in architecture, which sought to return English architecture to its roots in medieval design (as understood by the late-Victorians), as opposed to the classical forms popular in the eighteenth-century. The interior is if anything more lovely; the stained-glass windows, depicting the forty Catholic Martyrs of England, and Our Lady in all her aspects, flood the church with multi-coloured light when the sun is shining, illuminating the intricate carved stone of the nave and chapels and the imposing frescoes behind the altar. Our church serves many communities, and so we are lucky enough to have Polish icons as well as more naturalistic English devotional paintings to aid devotion, and Italian and Polish religious music at our many and various Masses, in addition to English and Latin hymns and Gregorian chant. Our church is unique in the richness of its architecture and its cultural mix: whatever your belief or denomination, you are very welcome to join us and experience the universal Catholic faith in a truly cosmopolitan, yet truly English, setting.

Follow the signs to Cambridge City centre, then to the Railway Station, or Parker's Piece,
or Queen Anne's Car Park. OLEM is the magnificent Victorian Neo-Gothic church whose tower,
the tallest in Cambridge, can clearly be seen from miles away.
By train / coach
OLEM is about 10 minutes walk either from Cambridge Railway or Coach Station. For the
