TRAIDCRAFT STALL this weekend. The Justice & Peace Group will hold our
regular stall in the Parish Hall after 09.30 and 10.45 Mass - we have a wide range of fair trade foodstuffs and stationery.
GRAND PARISH QUIZ: Now established as a not-to-be-missed fixture in the parish calendar, the annual battle
of wits takes place at St Mary's
School on Friday 23rd May at 19.30. It includes
a ploughman's supper, bar and raffle. Our indefatigable Monsignorial Quizmaster, Fr Tony, will be asking impossibly difficult
questions and proceeds for the evening will go to assist musical projects in our twin parish of Birzeit.
Tickets, £5 or £20 for a family ticket, are available from the Parish
Office during office hours. Come as a team or join one on the night. Last year's
quiz was a sell-out, so hurry and buy your tickets!

on abortion. Please phone your MP at the House

‘TE DEUM LAUDAMUS’

great Feast of Pentecost (May 11th) and finishes on the Feast of Corpus Christi
(25th).
The festival is a wonderful
opportunity to welcome local people, occasional visitors and tourists to our
church, as well as an opportunity to reflect and give thanks for the Church’s
‘rich treasury’ of sacred music.

MARRIAGE & FAMILY LIFE
CO-ORD1NATOR (Homebased, 20 hours per week, flexible to meet the needs of the post): The
Catholic Diocese of East Anglia is looking to appoint a Co-ordinator to take
forward their work plan, including increasing marriage preparation provision and
establishing parenting courses. The successful candidate will need to be able
to work on their own initiative and will be home-based. The post will serve the
whole of the Diocese so a willingness to travel and occasional work at the
weekends or evening may be required. This is an exciting post where the
successful candidate could make a real difference. Funding is also available
for study for a Masters Degree in Family Ministry, Leadership and Faith
Formation. Further information from Diocesan
Office, 21 Upgate, Poringland,
Norwich NRI4 7SH, tel: 01508 492202. Closing date:l6th May. Interviews: 23rd

GIFT AID: We will be claiming the tax for 2007-8 in the next
few days on behalf of parishioners who have gift-aided their donations. Please

resumed, it is held in the rectory on Monday evenings at 20.00.

cause of our resurrection,
June 3: The Ascension, 10: Christ at the right hand of the
Father, 17:Pentecost
PLEASE REMEMBER:
Chaplains are no longer able to access computerised hospital lists to find the
names of Catholics who have been admitted. If you are aware of anyone who is
Catholic being admitted to Addenbrookes’ Hospital who would like to see a
chaplain or receive one of the sacraments, please inform the Chaplaincy on
217769 and leave the information with the secretary, or, in her absence, on the
answer-machine. No in formation is given to the Chaplaincy if you just put your
religious denomination on the hospital form.
GIFT AID: Thank you very much to those who
have updated their Gift Aid contributions. As a result, our income through Gift
Aid will increase by £1900 a year, two-thirds of the way towards making up the
shortfall when the new tax rates come in next April. This is based upon the
replies we have received at the Rectory; many will have contacted their bank or
building society directly. Our thanks to all!
MASS COLLECTIONS: We are trying to include more of
the congregation at the 10.45 Sunday Mass in helping with the collections. Many
thanks to all those who have helped. If you would like to help please let the
steward know. Equally, if you are approached by a steward and don’t want to
help, please say so; don’t feel pressured into helping if you don’t want to!
BILLINGS: We are trained Billings Ovulation
Method (BOM) teachers of natural family planning in the parish, able to offer
fertility care to all women of child-bearing age, e.g. helping couples plan for
pregnancy achievement, avoidance or postponement, as well as helping and
supporting women after childbirth, miscarriage, while breastfeeding, nearing
menopause and for those with irregular cycles. BOM is a natural and highly
reliable alternative to contraception and a genuine aid to the sub-fertile. For
further information and an appointment contact Mrs Josephine Wager (504050) or
Mrs Alison Snape (01440 763848)
